Review companies and people in a mission

Read the mission audience, evidence and saved messages; make clear person and company decisions without confusing approval, outreach or an Introduction.

Tutorial16 min readUpdated Oct 11, 2026
You'll leave with a clearer next step you can put into practice.

Open the right mission#

Start with the business objective this mission is meant to achieve. You are reviewing who could help you reach that objective, not collecting names for their own sake.

  1. Confirm the workspace in Kite’s header.
  2. Open Missions, then the intended mission.
  3. Check its name, objective, current status and Involvement setting.
  4. Select Audience. This is the mission’s companies and contacts view, separate from the workspace-wide Contacts page.

The mission’s audience can include companies, people or both. Read the actual record and its role in your objective. A recruiting mission can begin with people; a buyer mission can begin with suitable companies. You do not need to invent a company decision-maker for every kind of objective.

If Your search status is unavailable appears, the current research progress is unknown. An Active mission label does not prove that new research, contact purchases or outreach happened. Read Understand mission progress for the wider activity view.

Keep the different facts separate#

Read the company or person, Where it stands, and What’s happening together.

What you seeWhat it establishes
A company matches your audienceEvidence of fit for the facts checked
A named person is identified or approvedA person relevant to the mission’s decision or relationship
Ready for you to reviewA review step is available; work has not been proved by that label
In your campaign or RepliedThe recorded work or conversation state; a reply can still be ambiguous
OpportunityA conversation record is available on the Introductions page; read its qualification state
IntroducedThe current Introduction record establishes willingness to talk and the required criteria
Was introducedAn Introduction was earned earlier and the conversation has since changed

A company match, contact details, an approval, a reply or a booking alone is not an Introduction. Read the person’s willingness, every required criterion, conversation context and next step before treating the handoff as qualified. See What counts as an Introduction.

Displaying or evaluating a possible person without sourcing them into a mission consumes no Reach for that event. Sourcing a unique person into a mission consumes one Reach, before outreach. Approving, rejecting or reconsidering a record does not undo the original sourcing count. See How Reach is counted.

Choose the view that matches your question#

Use the audience tabs to find the work you need to understand.

ViewHow to use it
AllRead the mission’s current audience across the different states
Needs youReview a person or a fit question Kite needs you to decide
Being workedRead approved people and their current purchase, campaign or conversation state; some still need saved-message review
Being checkedInspect companies being evaluated or awaiting identification of a relevant person
Couldn’t reachRead the recorded reason a person or contact route could not be established
Not a fitRead why the record was ruled out or stopped, and whether a supported reconsideration is appropriate

The label on an individual record is more specific than the tab. For example, Being worked can contain a person who is Ready for you to review and another whose conversation has Replied. Do not assume everyone in that view has received a message.

Search and page without losing context#

Enter a company or contact term in Search companies or contacts. Search narrows the selected view; it does not switch to every contact in your workspace.

The figures beside the tabs describe the mission’s current counts before your search. The range beneath the rows describes the selected, searched result. In the pictured search, the mission has 65 companies and 12 in Not a fit, while Redstone returns 1–1 of 1. Those are different scopes.

The page shows up to five records at a time. Use Next and Previous for the current result. Changing the tab or search returns to the first page. Wait for the new rows to finish loading before reviewing them. Opening and closing a record preserves your list context.

If a search finds nothing, clear the term and check the selected tab, workspace and mission. “No matching results” does not prove that the mission has no audience, that no one is restricted, or that a new sourcing or outreach action is permitted. An unreadable result is different from a successfully read empty result.

Separate mission counts from search results

The Redstone search within Not a fit returns one named company and person while the mission and tab counts remain 65 and 12; pagination reads 1–1 of 1.

Inspect the person and the evidence#

Select the company or person name, or its Review or View control. Read the record’s identity, KiteGTM’s read, current state and What happens next.

  1. Check the named person, role and company. Match the record’s identity and context rather than a name alone.
  2. Read the recorded reason the company or person fits your objective.
  3. Expand How KiteGTM checked this company, when available, and scroll through the relevant requirements and supporting detail.
  4. Separate established facts from unknown or unproven requirements. Several requirements citing the same source do not become several independent findings.
  5. If the full record could not be read, treat the short version as incomplete. Restore the read before making a decision that needs the missing detail.

For an evidence-led person record, use the evidence and controls actually shown for that record. Different record types can offer different choices. Close the review to return to the same list; Escape also closes the dialog and returns focus to its opener.

Decide about the displayed person#

When Approve is offered for a decision-maker, it records your decision about that displayed person. Confirm the identity and relevant criteria first. This action itself does not buy contact details or send a message. Later work follows the mission’s current involvement, permissions, readiness, funding and limits.

Use Not the right person when the named person is unsuitable for this company’s decision or relationship. It sets that person aside so the company can be checked for someone else. It does not mean the company is unsuitable for your objective.

Use Rule out this company only when that company-level choice is offered and your decision concerns the company. Do not use a person rejection as a substitute for a company exclusion, or change the audience to bypass someone’s contact preference.

If the displayed person or mission context changes before the decision is saved, reopen the current record and review it again. A decision about one person must not silently approve their replacement. Only use the choices that the current record supports.

Review the saved messages before approving them#

On a mission where you review everything, an approved person can be Ready for you to review. Open that record and read Review outreach.

Check the recipient, company and complete saved sequence: the first message, every follow-up, every available version, and any configured LinkedIn or text steps. Read the timing and acceptance conditions shown for those steps. Check personalization fields, sender signature and the applicable unsubscribe handling. A preview of one first email is not approval of unseen follow-ups or channel steps.

Approve these messages records your review of this saved sequence for this person. It does not itself buy a contact or send a message. Later work still needs its own current permissions, contact checks, connection readiness, funding and usage limits. Paused work stays paused.

If you change the person, targeting or saved copy, read the current review again. Use Refresh review to reread it before making a new decision. Do not treat an earlier approval as approval of a changed sequence.

If an earlier approval has an unconfirmed result, follow Recover original approval for that retained review. Do not submit a fresh approval as a workaround. If retained browser storage could not be read, restore that access before continuing; do not clear it to erase the unknown outcome.

Understand research that is still underway#

Open Being checked and read each record’s actual state. Not checked yet, Checking the company and Looking for the decision-maker describe different stages.

A company that fits can still lack an identified person. A named person can still lack an established way to reach them. Neither is willingness to talk. Read the evidence and mission activity rather than assuming time spent in a tab establishes a result.

Keep an unavailable research banner, unreadable identity or missing evidence explicit. Do not fill the gap with a guessed person, a fabricated qualification fact or a claim that nothing is happening. Use Get help with useful context when the recorded problem needs investigation.

Read the current research stage

Being checked separates Anvil Yard Finance, not checked yet, from Bayline Equipment Funding, looking for the decision-maker, while research progress remains unavailable.

Read why Kite could not reach someone#

Open Couldn’t reach. Read the reason chips and the record, then distinguish the actual problem:

  • Nobody found means Kite did not establish a relevant person at the company from the available checks.
  • No email found means the recorded person’s email was not established. Read any further reason or provider detail on the current record.
  • Other available reason labels describe their own recorded contact or provider problem; do not convert them into a confirmed opt-out or permission to retry.

This view is not another person-approval queue. An unreachable person is not necessarily a bad company fit. If you have better evidence, prepare the correction through the supported record or import workflow, then review the resulting state.

Do not substitute a new identity, channel, import or campaign to bypass a restriction. A contact purchase that found nothing and reports no charge does not prove that no Reach was consumed earlier. Keep contact-purchase results separate from mission sourcing. Follow Manage exclusions and Do not contact for person restrictions and unresolved preference holds.

Distinguish no email from no person

Couldn’t reach shows No email found and Nobody found reason chips, Travis Nkemdirim’s record and a company without an identified decision-maker.

Reconsider fit without promising a restart#

Open Not a fit, read the company and its recorded reason, and compare it with your objective and current standard. A company providing commercial lending might still lack evidence that it arranges equipment financing; those are different claims.

When available, Put it back returns a ruled-out company to be checked. Check again asks for another check against the mission’s standard when that choice is supported. Read the action’s effect before deciding.

Reconsideration does not establish fit, clear an opt-out or unresolved hold, restore consumed Reach, authorise a purchase, enroll a person or restart stopped outreach. If your standard itself needs changing, review that separately. Do not repeatedly put a company back merely to force an unknown requirement to pass.

Read the supported reconsideration

Recover from an unknown result#

If the audience, contact identity, evidence, restrictions or Introduction state could not be read completely, keep the missing fact unknown. Confirm the intended workspace and mission, then use the supported refresh or retry for the read. A partial response must not become “no person,” “no restriction” or “no Introduction.”

If a decision times out or That could not be confirmed appears, do not repeatedly submit it. Read the current relevant record and reconcile the intended decision first. For a retained message approval, recover the original approval as described above. A toast or a row changing tabs does not prove contact purchase, enrollment, send or a qualified handoff.

If the problem remains, record the screen, time, exact error and missing fact for support. Keep private identities and conversation text in an authorised support context; public University citations should point to the guide, not expose account evidence.

Watch the controls#

Follow the mission context, search scopes, person review, saved messages, research, unreachable reasons and reconsideration review. The walkthrough uses the native controls and stops at reading or closing a review. It does not approve a person or sequence, change fit, buy contact details or send a message.

Use the written steps and full transcript whenever they are easier to follow. The screenshots and walkthrough follow your selected light or dark mode.

Review companies and people in a mission

Work with your agent#

Ask your agent to prepare a mission audience review using this guide and separately authorised account reads. Public University retrieval provides instructions and citations; it cannot read your private audience or make decisions in your workspace.

Have the agent return current facts, identity checks, unknowns and proposed next steps. It should preserve the selected mission, filter, search, pagination, record IDs and timestamps. You decide any intended account action separately in Kite.

Work with your agent

A clear task to copy

Help me prepare a Kite mission audience review without making account changes. Retrieve Review companies and people in a mission from the current University, cite its stable section URL and version, and use the guide’s written steps, saved-message boundaries and recovery instructions. Public University tools cannot read my workspace. If separately connected and authorised, discover your current account tools, confirm the intended workspace and mission, and use only supported reads with IDs actually returned by those reads.

Preserve the selected mission, view, query, pagination scope, current record IDs and timestamps. Keep whole-mission counts separate from filtered totals and displayed rows. A partial, capped, malformed, unavailable or timed-out response is unknown; it must not become no person, no restriction, no Introduction or a complete empty list. A search with no results does not authorise sourcing, contact or a retry.

For each relevant record, separate company fit, the displayed person’s identity and required criteria, contactability, current restrictions, saved person/message decisions, actual purchase/enrollment/send evidence, reply/willingness and the current Introduction qualification/handoff state. A reply, booking, Opportunity label or fit alone is not an Introduction. Displaying or evaluating without mission sourcing uses zero Reach for that event; unique-person mission sourcing consumes one Reach before outreach. Rejecting or reconsidering does not restore it.

Explain supported choices without performing them. Person approval concerns the displayed person and must not substitute a newer candidate. Not the right person is distinct from Rule out this company. For Manual message review, retain the exact person/company and complete saved sequence, every version/follow-up/channel step, timing, personalization, signature and approval context. An earlier review does not approve changed copy or a different person. Approval records a decision and does not itself buy or send; later work keeps its current permission, suppression, connection, funding and usage checks. Paused work stays paused. Preserve any retained unconfirmed original approval and report its recovery step; do not clear storage or create a fresh approval to erase uncertainty.

Return current facts with evidence and scope, unclear identities, missing requirements, unresolved restrictions or outcomes, proposed next steps, and the exact in-app review location. Keep private people and quotes within authorised account/support context; do not publish them in University citations. Do not call approval, rejection, exclusion, reconsideration, refresh-research, import, upload, enrollment, purchase, start, stop, restart or send tools; do not change targeting, permissions, funding or browser approval storage. Put it back and Check again do not clear opt-outs or restart stopped work. I will separately decide and perform any intended account action in Kite.

This prepares guidance. Use the controls in your Kite workspace for account changes and starting work.

Before you move on#

You can locate the right mission, interpret its current audience, read the relevant person and evidence, and distinguish a saved decision from later execution. Unknown results remain explicit. The next useful outcome is an Introduction with willingness, required criteria, context and a next step—not a larger collection of matching names.
